Countries in the European region have the least confidence in vaccines, while countries in the Southeast Asian region have the most confidence in vaccines, a study published in EBioMedicine found.
The data comes from nearly 66,000 people in 67 countries who were surveyed by researchers from the Vaccine Confidence Project at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine with co-authors at Imperial College London and the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore. Authors contend it is the largest global survey of vaccine confidence to date.
Here are the five countries with the least confidence in vaccines.
1. France — 41 percent of respondents disagreed that vaccines are safe
2. Bosnia and Herzegovina — 36 percent
3. Russia — 28 percent
4. Mongolia — 27 percent
5. Greece — 25 percent
5. Japan — 25 percent
5. Ukraine — 25 percent
