About 2,000 people received a mumps, measles, rubella vaccine in response to the outbreak, many of whom were vaccinated at free health clinics run by the Rockland Department of Health.

The New Jersey Department of Health is asking non-immunized children attending schools with students testing positive for measles to stay home for 21 days from the last known exposure to the virus.
