Admission figures are per 1,000 population from 2010. Some states had equal number of admissions, resulting in 18 rankings for 20 states. Data, which is from Kaiser Family Foundation, represents community hospitals. Federal hospitals, long-term facilities, psychiatric hospitals and other chemical dependency hospitals are not included.
