The World Health Organization is inviting healthcare facilities to participate in two global surveys as part of a campaign to raise awareness of the role of hand hygiene in reducing the spread of antimicrobial resistance.
One survey is to assess and raise awareness of the prevalence of the five main healthcare-associated multidrug-resistant organisms. The other survey will help the WHO assess surgical antibiotic prophylaxis prescribing, according to the WHO.
The two surveys are part of the WHO's annual SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands global campaign, which is a call to action to implement and sustain hand hygiene improvement in healthcare settings across the globe.
