10 hospitals that get the most positive buzz on Twitter

A new website has been monitoring hospitals' activity on Twitter and has sourced a list of 10 hospitals that get the most positive tweets. The top 10 hospitals tended to be children's hospitals or those with a specialty focus.

The website, CrowdClinical.com, was built around a study published in BMJ Quality & Safety that found Tweets can be a useful way to measure patient satisfaction and experience.

The website started monitoring hospitals' Twitter feeds on February 22 and compiled a list of 10 hospitals that had "the most positive patient experience tweets sent to them." The list was restricted to hospitals that had more than 20 tweets.

The 10 hospitals are:

  1. Seattle Children's Hospital
  2. Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minn.)
  3. Boston Children's Hospital
  4. Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
  5. Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Boston)
  6. Cancer Treatment Centers of America
  7. NYU Langone Medical Center (New York City)
  8. Hospital for Special Surgery (New York City)
  9. Children's Hospitals & Clinics of Minnesota (Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn.)
  10. Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh

Additionally, the website allows people to search for specific hospitals and see how many positive, negative or neutral tweets get sent their way, as well as their CMS-reported patient experience and quality scores.
