West Virginia system names VP of post-acute services

Morgantown-based WVU Health System appointed Maggie Thieman, MD, vice president of post-acute services.

Dr. Thieman stepped into the newly created role June 3, according to a June 28 system news release. She is providing oversight of home health, hospice and durable medical equipment.

"WVU Medicine currently provides hospice, home health, and DME services to nearly 2,000 patients per day across three states," Carrie Willetts, executive vice president of Health System Integration and Business Development and president and CEO of WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital, said in the news release. "Our goal going forward as the post-acute service line is to be an integral part of the health system's care team, having a notable and positive impact on quality and value for our patients."

Previously, she served as associate chief medical officer of clinical operations at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh.
