Here are 31 health systems recently opening or expanding rehabilitations hospitals and units:
- Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Birmingham, Ala.-based Encompass Health that operates the inpatient rehabilitation center inside Memorial Hospital Gulfport (Miss.), will add 12 beds to the facility.
- A nearly $16 million expansion project at Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital will add 20 beds by the end of October.
- UC Davis Rehabilitation Hospital, a 52-bed, 58,600-square-foot inpatient rehabilitation facility, opened in Sacramento, Calif.
- Community Health Network and Lifepoint Rehabilitation, both based in Indianapolis, opened Community Rehabilitation Hospital West, a 50,000-square-foot inpatient rehabilitation hospital.
- PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Jupiter (Fla.) opened June 12.
- Wesley Healthcare began construction on its $30 million Wichita, Kan., rehabilitation hospital slated to open in January 2025.
- Lima, Ohio-based Mercy Health-St. Rita's Medical Center completed renovations on its outpatient rehabilitation center.
- Enola, Pa.-based PAM Health, in partnership with Dayton, Ohio-based Kettering Health opened its freestanding, 60-bed rehab facility, PAM Rehabilitation Hospital in Miamisburg, Ohio.
- Birmingham, Ala.-based Encompass Health opened a 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital called The Rehabilitation Hospital of Bowie (Md.)
- Birmingham, Ala.-based The Sanders Trust broke ground on a $48 million inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Jacksonville, Fla.
- Birmingham, Ala.-based Encompass Health plans to build a freestanding, 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Concordville, Pa.
- Construction started on a WVU Medicine Outpatient Rehabilitation Center at University Town Centre in Morgantown, W.Va.
