FDA lists 40 generic blood pressure drugs without carcinogens

The FDA published a list April 4 of 40 generic blood pressure drugs that are free of potential cancer-causing impurities.

The list was released as pharmaceutical companies and healthcare providers grapple with a string of recalls linked to tainted generic blood pressure medications.

The list is expected to help physicians find versions of the blood pressure drugs known as angiotensin II receptor blockers that are safe to prescribe.
