The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson has joined the Caris Life Sciences' Precision Oncology Alliance network.
The network aims to improve clinical outcomes for cancer patients by advancing precision oncology care with biomarker research and AI, according to a July 25 news release from the biotech company.
"The power of the Caris POA is that it provides UMMC access to not only thousands of complete annotations and molecular profiling data points for each patient," UMMC Cancer Center and Research Institute Director Rodney Rocconi, MD, said in the release. "But also a network of investigators and oncologists, both of which are powerful resources for cancer researchers."
The Precision Oncology Alliance is made up of 95 cancer centers, academic and research institutions, and healthcare systems.
