Northern Light Cancer Center in Brewer, Maine, is no longer accepting some oncology referrals due to staff shortages, radio station Q106.5 reported Dec. 7.
The center is temporarily deferring some new medical oncology referrals but will still accept radiation and surgical oncology patients and will consider referrals from within its system.
Medical oncology referrals will be diverted to other providers. Northern Light said it hopes to accept all referrals in 2023, according to the report.
