$815M freestanding cancer center breaks ground in Chicago

The University of Chicago Medicine broke ground on Chicago's first freestanding cancer care and research pavilion Sept. 19.

The $815 million facility is expected to open in 2027, according to a Sept. 18 system news release shared with Becker's. The center will expedite the cancer drug and development pipeline, address health inequities in cancer care and outcomes, and offer a patient-centric experience.
