U.S. News & World Report released its 2021-22 Best Children's Hospitals ranking for cancer care June 15, with Children's Hospital of Philadelphia taking the top spot.
For the ranking, U.S. News assessed clinical survey data from 50 children's hospitals on five-year survival for leukemia-related cancers, bone marrow transplant services, programs for brain tumors and sarcomas, infection prevention and accreditation by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy. This accounted for 85 percent of a hospital's score.
The remaining 15 percent was based on 2019-21 survey data from pediatric cancer specialists and subspecialists, who were asked where they would send the sickest children in their specialty. For more on the methodology, click here.
