Madison, W.Va.-based Boone Memorial Hospital is partnering with the Morgantown, W.Va.-based WVU Cancer Institute to open a new cancer center, WSAZ reported Jan. 28.
The new center will provide advanced oncology care and chemotherapy infusion services to the southern part of the state. It is also the first cancer center in Boone county.
The project is in the design phase, but expects to open to patients late 2025 or early 2026. Boone Memorial was awarded more than $5 million through former Gov. Jim Justice's rural hospital grant program, and a portion of those funds will go toward the center's development.
