Pathologist pay jumped nearly 6 percent from 2021 to 2022, according to Medscape's "Physician Compensation Report 2022," released April 15.

1. Pathologist pay hit $334,000 in 2022 compared to $316,000 in 2021, a 5.7 percent jump.
2. Women make up 38 percent of pathologists.
3. Pathologists reported an average incentive bonus of $54,000.
4. Sixty percent of pathologists said they feel fairly compensated.
5. Eighty-six percent of pathologists said they would choose the same specialty again.
6. Pathologists make up 2 percent of all physicians.
