New Jersey lab error delays positive COVID-19 test results

New Jersey reported an abnormally low 268 new confirmed positive COVID-19 tests Sept. 7. State Department of Health spokesperson Nancy Kearney said the number was lower than in recent weeks due to a lab processing error.

The error is expected to be resolved Sept. 8, according to NJ.com, and the positive PCR tests will likely appear higher than normal Sept. 9 because of the backlog.
