1. Chicago-based Sinai Health System reached an agreement with the union representing hundreds of its workers.
2. About 25,000 University of California service and patient care technical workers plan to strike Nov. 13 over the alleged illegal outsourcing of jobs.
3. Nurses at Chino (Calif.) Valley Medical Center launched a three-day strike Oct. 29 amid contract negotiations with the hospital's owner, Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare.
4. Nurses and technicians at Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital in Ellsworth are calling for higher nurse staffing levels and 24-hour security after patient assaults.
