Cleveland-based University Hospitals and Ravenna, Ohio-based Robinson Health System have signed a letter of intent to fully integrate Robinson Memorial with the University Hospitals health system.
It is anticipated that UH will bring investments and new services to 117-staffed-bed Robinson Memorial under the new agreement. Additionally, UH Case Medical Center, UH's academic medical center, will provide clinical research, technology, innovative practices and initiatives that will complement and help grow Robinson Memorial's medical programs.
"We completed a very comprehensive process to evaluate potential organizations that could best support our mission to provide high-quality, patient-centered health care to our patients and the communities that we serve," said Stephen Colecchi, president and CEO of Robinson Memorial in a statement. "It is our belief that the mission of University Hospitals is very compatible with the mission of Robinson. University Hospitals also has an outstanding record of employee and medical staff engagement which is very important to Robinson. We strongly believe that becoming part of UH will be a dynamic and important change for Robinson and is in the best interests of our patients, the Portage County community, our employees and medical staff."
