King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services, in partnership with Westchester, Ill.-based Regent Surgical Health, will build out a network of ambulatory surgery centers across the U.S.
The two organizations have formed a joint venture entity that will build and operate the ASCs. Currently, UHS has 40 outpatient facilities and the partnership aims to expand the health system's ambulatory capabilities.
"UHS has established and expanded its substantial leadership position in the acute care hospital space... Being a leader means providing the highest quality care every day. By engaging with Regent, we further extend that commitment to patients through ambulatory surgery centers," said Marvin Pember, executive vice president and president of the acute care division at UHS.
