There were at least 23 definitive agreements signed for hospital mergers and acquisitions in the second quarter of fiscal year 2015, according to a Levin Associates report.
Here are the five largest hospital deals in the second quarter.
1. Chicago-based Ventas' $1.75 billion acquisition of Nashville, Tenn.-based Ardent Health Services.
2. Equity Group Investments' expected takeover of Ardent's hospital operations for $475 million.
3. Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health's $100 million joint venture with Watertown (Wis.) Regional Medical Center.
4. Adventist Health's $100 million takeover of Lodi (Calif.) Health.
5. Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Spectrum Health's $56 million acquisition of Hastings, Mich.-based Pennock Health Services.
