State officials approved Nov. 20 the merger of Butler (Pa.) Health System and Clarion (Pa.) Healthcare System.
Butler Health said the merger will help keep critical medical services in the community and allow the two providers to invest in new programs, services and technology.
Clarion Hospital is a 70-bed facility; Butler Memorial Hospital has 326 beds.
The formal integration of the two providers will be finalized Dec. 1.
