A joint venture between Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health and LHC Group, a home healthcare provider based in Lafayette, La., has acquired two home healthcare providers.
LifePoint and LHC purchased and share ownership of Guardian Health Services in Hickory, N.C, and Commonwealth Home Health Care in Danville, Va. LHC has majority ownership and will manage the home health providers. Guardian will be affiliated with Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, part of Duke LifePoint Healthcare, and Commonwealth Home Health Care will be affiliated with Sovah Health-Danville, a LifePoint facility.
"We look forward to continuing our work with our partners at LifePoint — expanding their post-acute presence and capabilities as they serve communities across America," Keith Myers, chairman and CEO of LHC Group, said in a press release. "Together, we will grow these existing service lines, offer new services, and enhance our partners' ability to provide high-quality care to the patients and families they serve."
