Dignity Health, GoHealth Urgent Care acquire 6 California urgent care centers

San Francisco-based Dignity Health and GoHealth Urgent Care, purchased six urgent care centers operated by Golden Gate Urgent Care.

Dignity Health-GoHealth Urgent Care operates 14 locations across San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin and Alameda counties in California as of Dec. 14, when the deal was finalized.

Under the deal, Golden Gate Urgent Care, a San Francisco-based urgent care provider and affiliate of UC-San Francisco, will maintain its brand.

The urgent care centers offer an after-hours alternative to costly emergency room visits.

"We are pleased to welcome Golden Gate Urgent Care to Dignity Health-GoHealth Urgent Care," said Todd Strumwasser, MD, senior vice president of operations for Dignity Health Bay Area. "By coming together, we can expand our ability to provide excellent health care focused on what patients need — the right level of care, in the right setting, in a convenient location, for the right price."

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
