CHS sells Tennessee hospital for $160M

Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems on Aug. 1 completed the sale of Tennova Healthcare-Cleveland (Tenn.) to Vitruvian Health in Dalton, Ga.

Vitruvian, which rebranded from Hamilton Health Care System as part of its regional expansion plans, acquired the 351-bed for $160 million. CHS may receive an additional cash payment based on potential changes to certain supplemental reimbursement programs.

Vitruvian has renamed the hospital Vitruvian Health-Bradley Medical Center and appointed Lisa Lovelace as CEO of the facility. Ms. Lovelace previously served as COO of Tennova Healthcare-Cleveland before joining Hamilton Health Care System in 2021.

"Healthcare is evolving rapidly, but what's important to our community members … is accessing the care they need, when they need it, from providers they trust," Vitruvian CEO Jeff  Myerssaid in an Aug. 1 news release shared with Becker's. "Integrating Bradley Medical Center and its associated care locations into the Vitruvian Health system allows us to provide greater access to care in our region, enhance care coordination, empower local healthcare teams and advance clinical quality."
