Altoona (Pa.) Regional Health System and Nason Hospital in Roaring Spring, Pa., have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding to explore an affiliation.
The affiliation would create a new regional healthcare system for the county and improve economies of scale, depth and expertise, according to the two organizations.
The due diligence and negotiation process is projected to take at least until the end of the year.
