Mendocino Coast District Hospital directors approved an agreement that would allow Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health to operate the Fort Bragg, Calif.-based hospital for the next 30 years, according to The Advocate News.
Under the agreement, Adventist Health will increase lease payments to the Mendocino Coast Healthcare District each year. The district can then use the money to ensure the building meets earthquake-resistance standards within 10 years.
In addition, existing services will be kept at the hospital for at least two years, and employment arrangements would stay in place for 90 days after Adventist becomes the lessee.
The arrangement needs approval from the hospital district's residents. It is slated to be on the ballot for a vote in March.
