Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital and Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio, plan to merge their urgent care centers in Tuscarawas County in the spring, according to the Times Reporter.
Jobs will be maintained as staff from Mercy Urgent Care in New Philadelphia, Ohio, will move to FirstCare Urgent Care at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital, according to the report. FirstCare will also expand the number of its exam rooms.
Eleven employees work at the FirstCare location and nine work at the Mercy facility.
"With Union and Mercy hospitals now belonging to the same health system, merging two urgent care centers located less than a 10-minute drive apart will allow us to better and more efficiently serve the community's needs," Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital president Thomas Rogers, MD, said.
