MedCath Corp. announced it has completed the sale of its minority ownership in Southwest Arizona Heart and Vascular Center in Phoenix, according to a MedCath news release.
MedCath sold its 27 percent stake in the facility to the joint venture's physician partners for $7 million, according to the release.
MedCath Partners acquired its interest in the joint venture in April 2008, and along with Heart, Lung and Vascular Center — a physician-owned entity — provided cardiac catheterization lab services to Yuma (Ariz.) Regional Medical Center.
This marks MedCath's fourth hospital sale since it began plans to consider divesting its hospital assets earlier this year. MedCath previously completed sales involving its interests in Arizona Heart Hospital in Phoenix, Avera Heart Hospital of South Dakota and Heart Hospital of Austin.
