Study: More Than 50 Percent of Private Practices' Time and Money is Dedicated to Marketing

Most private practice managers and physicians agree that 50 to 60 percent of their practice's time and money is dedicated to marketing, according to a study by WhiteSpace Health Care.

The consulting and research firm has released the results of its study on the drivers behind challenges facing private practice.

The population of the study included hundreds of physicians and practice managers representing several specialties from around the globe. Several one-on-one interviews were also conducted with leading healthcare experts, consultants and economists.

Percentage of time and money dedicated by private practices to marketing, according to the study, are:

Fifty to 60 percent — 58 percent of respondents reported that this percentage of time and money is dedicated to marketing in their practices
Twenty to 30 percent — 26 percent reported that this percentage of time and money is dedicated to marketing in their practices
Less than 10 percent — 8 percent of respondents reported that this percentage of time and money is dedicated to marketing in their practices
