Muncie, Ind.-based IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and Medical Consultants have entered into definitive agreements for the multi-specialty physician practice to join the hospital, effective Oct. 1.
Medical Consultants has been providing care since 1968 with Indiana locations in Muncie, New Castle, Anderson, Portland, Winchester, Upland and Marion.
Michael Haley, president and CEO of IU Health Ball Memorial, expressed excitement about the hospital adding Medical Consultants.
"We've always had a good working relationship with the physicians and staff at Medical Consultants, and this further strengthens the ease of access to healthcare offered locally for our community," he said in a prepared statement.
Gordon M. Hughes, MD, president of Medical Consultants shared Mr. Haley's enthusiasm.
"It is an exciting step in our evolution to join such a dynamic health care system. Our physicians and staff care deeply about our community. We are very proud of and remain committed to the success of IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital," Dr. Hughes said.
