Meet the leaders of Forbes' top healthcare employers

Hospitals and health systems were featured in Forbes' 2024 "America's Best Employers By State" list, including Mayo Clinic and the University of Kansas Health System earning the top slot in more than one state.

Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista and surveyed more than 160,000 employees in the U.S. on their evaluations of their employers, including how likely they were to recommend them.

Here are the CEOs of the top-ranking hospitals and health systems per state:

Alabama
Infirmary Health (Mobile): Mark Nix was named CEO in 2009.

Alaska
Providence St. Joseph Health (Renton, Wash.): Rod Hochman, MD, is CEO of Providence and will retire at the end of the year.

Arizona
HonorHealth (Scottsdale): Todd LaPorte has been CEO since 2017.

Arkansas
Arkansas Children's Hospital (Little Rock): Marcy Doderer is president and CEO.

California
UC Davis Health (Sacramento): David Lubarsky, MD, is CEO.

Colorado
Children's Hospital Colorado (Aurora): Jena Hausmann has been CEO since 2015.

Connecticut
Yale New Haven Health: Christopher O'Connor has been CEO since 2022.

Delaware
Bayhealth (Dover): Terry Murphy is president and CEO.

District of Columbia
MedStar Health (Columbia, Md.): Kenneth Samet was named president and CEO in 2008.

Florida
Jupiter Medical Center: Amit Rastogi, MD, is president and CEO.

Georgia
Children's Healthcare of Atlanta: Donna Hyland is president and CEO.

Hawaii
Kaiser Permanente (Oakland, Calif.) Greg Adams is CEO.

Idaho
Trinity Health (Livonia, Mich.): Michael Slubowski is president and CEO.

Illinois
University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority (Madison, Wis.): Alan Kaplan was appointed CEO in 2016.

Indiana
Community Health Network (Indianapolis): Bryan Mills has been president and CEO since 2009.

Iowa
University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (Iowa City): Bradley Haws was named CEO in November.

Kansas
The University of Kansas Health System (Kansas City): Bob Page has been CEO since 2007.

Kentucky
Norton Healthcare (Louisville): Russell Cox became CEO in 2017.

Woman's Hospital (Baton Rouge): Rene Ragas is president and CEO.

Maine
MaineGeneral Health (Augusta): Nathan Howell became CEO in July 2023.

Maryland
Adventist HealthCare (Gaithersburg): John Sackett became CEO on Aug. 4.

Massachusetts
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Boston): Laurie Glimcher, MD, is CEO.

Michigan
University of Michigan Health System (Ann Arbor): Marschall Runge, MD, PhD, is CEO.

Minnesota
Mayo Clinic (Rochester): Gianrico Farrugia, MD, is president and CEO of Mayo Clinic.

Mississippi
University of Mississippi Medical Center (Jackson): Glenn Boyce is the chancellor of University of Mississippi.

Missouri
The University of Kansas Health System (Kansas City): Bob Page has been CEO since 2007.
