Two-thirds of the roughly 1,000 employees Miami-based Jackson Health System recently announced it would lay off will include clinical staff, according to a Miami Herald report.
Following the announcement of the layoffs, a representative of SEIU — the union that represents many of Jackson's clinical staff — said the move suggests the system did not act in "good faith" when bargaining with the union, according to the report. The two agreed to a new contract just weeks ago.
The system plans to add roughly 350 part-time workers following the full-time job cuts.
