The Federation of American Hospitals' board of directors has elected Carl Whitmer, president and CEO of Franklin, Tenn.-based IASIS Healthcare, as the new board chairman — effective immediately.
Mr. Whitmer boasts more than two decades of experience in the healthcare industry and is well regarded for his leadership skills and expertise in hospital financial and operational management.
FAH released a statement regarding his election saying the board is confident that "under [Mr. Whitmer's] leadership as Board Chair the investor-owned sector will continue leading the way to achieve continuous improvement in hospital care quality, and provide the vital healthcare services upon which patients and communities across the country rely and depend."
