Minneapolis-based Fairview Health Services said it will select a CEO before next year, the Star Tribune reports.
David Murphy, interim CEO of Fairview, said the system has several candidates under review by a search committee.
In light of the change, Mr. Murphy said Fairview will pause a proposed acquisition of health insurer UCare until a CEO is named. Mr. Murphy said once a CEO is selected, Fairview will reassess whether the acquisition is still a fit for the system. The transaction was announced in April.
