Carthage (N.Y.) Area Hospital plans to eliminate an unspecified number of positions, according to a Watertown Daily Times report.
The workforce reductions will be achieved through eliminating vacant positions, reassigning employee duties and reducing staff, according to the report. Clinical and nonclinical areas are being considered for the cuts.
Carthage Area Hospital is making the cuts to maintain long-term viability, as well as to respond to reimbursement and patient volume changes, according to the report.
