4 healthcare layoffs in June

The following healthcare layoffs were reported by Becker's Hospital Review in June. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Accretive Health is laying off 41 employees as part of its restructuring plan, according to a St. Louis Business Journal report. The restructuring includes adjusting internal functions, processes and organizational structure, with the associated reduction driven primarily in SG&A expense categories.

2. Wichita, Kan.-based Via Christi Health will lay off 70 employees, according to The Wichita Eagle. In addition to the layoffs, Via Christi also plans to leave 80 positions unfilled that were lost through attrition and to add 80 bedside nursing positions.

3. San Francisco-based health benefits broker Zenefits is laying off another 106 employees, or 9 percent of its staff, The Wall Street Journal reports. Here are five things to know about the layoffs.

4. Wyoming Medical Center in Casper laid off 58 workers, according to the Casper Star-Tribune. In addition to the layoffs, WMC will leave 57 other positions unfilled and reduce the hours of 11 employees between four and 12 hours a week. Thirty hospital departments were affected, including finance, radiology, quality management and central sterilization, according to the Casper Star-Tribune.
