The University of California Los Angeles School of Nursing and Children's Hospital Los Angeles have begun a partnership that will improve pediatric nursing education and benefit pediatric patients.
The institutions signed a memorandum on July 10 that outlined a plan for the agreement, including:
• Creation and support of an institutional nursing research department on the children's hospital's campus.
• Joint education efforts for upcoming pediatric nurses and an overhaul of the UCLA School of Nursing pediatric nurse practitioner program.
• Circulation of academic research and findings on best practices for pediatric nursing.
• Attendance at national and international conferences to share and obtain pediatric nursing knowledge as well as the organization of joint conferences and symposia for this same purpose.
