The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed a lawsuit against Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora, claiming the organization intentionally discriminated against a woman with fibromyalgia, according to a Denver Post report.
The suit, which was filed in U.S. District Court in Denver, claims that Cecilia McMurray was offered a position as a staff assistant after three interviews, contingent upon her passing a pre-employment medical exam. The suit alleges that Ms. McMurray's employment offer was withdrawn after the medical screening.
At the time of the news report's publication, a hospital spokesperson was unable to comment on the suit because the hospital "had the opportunity to review the complaint," according to the report.
