Greenville, N.C.-based Vidant Health selected Debra Hernandez, RN, president of Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville, N.C.

1. Ms. Hernandez previously served as vice president, COO and chief nursing officer at Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas in Austin.
2. She has also held management-level roles at WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, N.C., and Durham, N.C.-based Duke University Health System.
3. Ms. Hernandez is the permanent successor to Jay Briley, who was promoted to president of Vidant Community Hospitals in June.
