Tom Thompson has been named president of Regina Hospital in Hastings, Minn., according to a Hastings Star Gazette report.
Here are three things to know about Mr. Thompson.
1. His start date has not been determined.
2. He resigned from his post as president and CEO of Moses Lake, Wash.-based Samaritan Healthcare to accept the Regina position.
3. Prior to his work in Washington, Mr. Thompson was CEO of Essentia Health St. Mary's-Detroit Lakes (Minn.). There, he helped create an integrated health system that includes clinics, acute care and post-acute services, according to the report. He also led day-to-day operations, care processes and strategy while making more than $80 million in facility additions and improvements, the report notes.
