Suzanne Richards to serve as CEO of Hahnemann, St. Christopher's hospitals

El Segundo, Calif.-based American Academic Health System, an operator of acute care hospitals, named Suzanne Richards CEO of Hahnemann University Hospital in Center City, Pa., and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, according to The Inquirer.

Four things to know:

1. American Academic Health System bought the two hospitals from Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare a year ago.

2. The organization, an affiliate of El Segundo-based Paladin Healthcare, is streamlining leadership for the two hospitals, which previously had separate CEOs.

3. Ms. Richards has experience leading hospitals in Southern California.

4. When American Academic Health System bought the hospitals, it replaced several top executives at Hahnemann University Hospital.
