Mike McBride, president and CEO of St. Mary's Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colo., took the helm as chairman of the Colorado Hospital Association this week, according to a Grand Junction Daily Sentinel report.
Here are three things to know about Mr. McBride.
1. He has been chairman-elect of the statewide organization for the past year.
2. Now, Mr. McBride said being chairman will allow him to continue to push for initiatives designed to improve healthcare in rural parts of Colorado, according to the report.
3. Some ideas that could be brought forth during Mr. McBride's tenure as chairman include expanding on things such as better workforce development programs to help rural hospitals recruit nurses and medical technicians.
