Somerset Medical Center CEO to Step Down Before Merger With RWJ University Hospital

Ken Bateman, president and CEO of Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, N.J., along with seven other members of the hospital's executive team, is voluntarily stepping down when the hospital's merger with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., takes effect, according to a report by The Star-Ledger.

Mr. Bateman has served as president and CEO since 2004, before which he served as CFO.

Vincent Joseph, executive vice president of RWJ University Hospital, will serve as interim site administrator upon Mr. Bateman's departure, according to the report.
