Prisma Health taps McLaren Health Care exec as new CEO

Greenville, S.C.-based Prisma Health named Mark S. O'Halla president and CEO, effective in mid-August.

Prisma Health is an 18-hospital system formed by the merger of Columbia, S.C.-based Palmetto Health and Greenville (S.C.) Health System. Mr. O'Halla succeeds Michael C. Riordan and Charles D. Beaman Jr., who have been serving as co-CEOs since the merger in 2017. Mr. Riordan will depart May 31, and Mr. Beaman will step down once Mr. O'Halla assumes the role in August.

Mr. O'Halla comes to Prisma Health from Grand Blanc, Mich.-based McLaren Health Care, where he served as executive vice president and COO. He has more than 30 years of healthcare leadership experience.

Mr. O'Halla is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He holds an MBA from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester (N.Y.).
