Nicholas "Nico" Tejeda is leaving his job as CEO of Doctors Hospital of Manteca (Calif.) to become the new CEO of Sierra Providence East Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, according to the El Paso Times.

Here are three things to know about Mr. Tejeda.

1. Mr. Tejeda is replacing Sally Hurt-Deitch, who in April was appointed market CEO of the El Paso-based Sierra Providence Health Network and CEO of Providence Memorial Hospital and Providence Children's Hospital, also in El Paso.

2. Prior to Doctors Hospital of Manteca, Mr. Tejeda served as COO of Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton, Calif., and vice president of hospital and ambulatory operations at Saint Mary's Medical Center in Reno, Nev.

3. Under Mr. Tejeda's leadership, Doctors Hospital of Manteca implemented an EMR and reduced readmissions by 20 percent, helping lead the hospital to receive an "A" grade from The Leapfrog Group.
