Peter Fleischut, MD, has been named chief information and transformation officer of New York City-based NewYork-Presbyterian, filling the role of former CIO Daniel Barchi, who left for the same position at Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health in November.
Dr. Fleischut, who also serves as group senior vice president, had been chief transformation officer of NewYork-Presbyterian since 2017, focusing on digital health and the implementation of a single Epic EHR across the health system and its affiliated medical schools, Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, also both in New York City.
He has also served as chief innovation officer and chief medical operations officer in his 13 years there, after joining the health system from Weill Cornell.
In the role, Dr. Fleischut will strategize and manage enterprise IT, lab and pharmacy operations, innovation, data and analytics, artificial intelligence, telehealth and cybersecurity.
