Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center has named Ketul J. Patel as its new COO and one of four executive vice presidents, according to a North Jersey report.
Mr. Patel has held various executive positions at hospitals in Pittsburgh, Chicago and San Diego over the last 10 years. Most recently, he served as vice president of operations at Magee-Womens Hospital of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center from 2008-2010.
Mr. Patel will prioritize budget issues, according to the report. The hospital had an operating margin of only $10.8 million, or 0.9 percent, last year.
