Melayne Yocum has been named the interim CEO of the new Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital in Los Angeles, according to a Los Angeles Wave report.
Ms. Yocum will serve as a consultant in her interim CEO role. The new MLK Hospital replaces the older shuttered hospital, which closed more than four years ago after federal inspectors released a 124-page report detailing patient safety failures. The facility is currently under construction and is licensed for 136 beds. It is scheduled to open in 2013.
