Morgantown, W.Va.-based Mon Health hired David S. Goldberg to serve as president and CEO, effective Oct. 1.
Mr. Goldberg is currently a senior vice president with Highmark Health's Alleghany Health Network in Pittsburgh, where he oversaw administrative services and corporate services, such as post-acute services and external relations. While at AHN, he also oversaw eight acute care hospitals, multiple ambulatory surgery centers and urgent care centers.
Mr. Goldberg has also worked at Baptist Health System in San Antonio and Inova Health System in Falls Church, Va. He holds a master's degree in health systems management from George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.
Mr. Goldberg is the permanent successor to Darryl Duncan, who resigned March 19 after a two-month leave of absence. Dottie Oakes, MSN, RN, initially took over as interim CEO of the health system after Mr. Duncan was placed on leave. She resigned March 21, after which the health system appointed Thomas Senker interim CEO.
