MGMA CEO resigns for new position

Susan L. Turney, MD, president and CEO of the Medical Group Management Association, will resign Sept. 1 to become CEO of Marshfield Clinic Health System, a newly formed system in Marshfield, Wis.

Dr. Turney has served as MGMA president and CEO since October 2011. During her time leading MGMA, she oversaw a rebranding project and the creation of a new executive partnership program, among many other accomplishments.

"This is a decision I considered carefully and feel confident that there is tremendous momentum for the initiatives I've championed and I have no doubt the organization will not skip a beat," Dr. Turney said in a news release.

MGMA leaders will pick up new responsibilities until a new president and CEO is chosen.
