Merit Health Rankin in Brandon, Miss., selected Heather Sistrunk, BSN, RN, to serve as CEO and Mitchell Cox as permanent CFO.
Here are six things to know:
1. Ms. Sistrunk most recently served as chief administrative officer for both Merit Health Rankin and Merit Health River Oaks in Flowood, Miss.
2. Prior to that, she was COO of Merit Health River Oaks.
3. Ms. Sistrunk began her healthcare career as a coronary care nurse.
4. She is a member of the Medical Group Management Association and American Organization for Nursing Executives.
5. Mr. Cox previously served as interim CFO of Merit Health Rankin, before which he was CFO of Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg, Miss.
6. He holds a master's degree of accountancy in taxation from the University of Mississippi and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
